BCA Collection & Delivery
Bought at a BCA auction? Post the collection for free and compare quotes from checked drivers, from any BCA centre to your address.
Collecting from BCA
You can post a collection from any BCA centre in Great Britain, whether you bought as a trade or a private buyer — tell us which centre when you post the job.
Post the job once you've paid for the lot: the site's postcode, your delivery postcode, the vehicle and whether it drives. Put the lot number in the notes, and the release or gate-pass details under Access instructions (Special instructions in the app) — only the driver you accept sees those.
How it works
- Post the job — pickup and drop-off postcodes, the vehicle and whether it drives. It's free and you don't need an account to post.
- Checked, independent drivers send their own price. Each quote shows the driver's goods-in-transit cover in pounds.
- Choose a driver and pay a deposit online to book. You pay the rest to the driver directly, on the payment terms shown with their quote.
Storage charges
Auction sites charge storage once the free period ends — check the current terms for your lot. Posting the job as soon as you've paid gives drivers the most time to quote and collect before charges start.
Non-runners, Cat S and Cat N
Plenty of auction stock doesn't drive. Describe the condition when you post — non-starter, flat tyres, accident damage — so drivers who can load it quote for it.
A1 Transporter is a new platform and we don't have drivers quoting everywhere yet, so on some routes you may get few quotes, or none. Posting is free, so it costs nothing to see who quotes.
Before you book you see the driver's price and our booking fee. The booking fee is the deposit you pay online; the driver's price is paid to the driver directly, at the time and by the method shown with their quote. Nothing else is added.
Why book through A1 Transporter
- Checked drivers — before approval we check each driver's V5 (vehicle log book), motor insurance and goods-in-transit certificate
- Cover you can see — each quote shows how much goods-in-transit cover that driver has
- Condition photos — the driver photographs the vehicle at collection and again at delivery
- Ask before you book — chat with drivers on the website or in the app; contact details are shared once you've paid the deposit
Frequently asked questions
Can a driver collect from BCA for me?
Yes, if a driver quotes for it. Post the job with the site's postcode and your delivery postcode, and put the lot number in the notes. Agree the collection date with the driver you choose, then follow the site's own collection process — some sites ask the buyer to book the collection.
How quickly can the car be collected?
That depends on the dates you set and the driver you choose. Post as soon as the lot is paid for and compare what each driver says about timing — especially if storage charges are close.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Every driver must hold goods-in-transit insurance. Before approval we check each driver's V5 (vehicle log book), motor insurance and goods-in-transit certificate. Each quote shows how much cover that driver has, so choose one whose cover is at least your vehicle's value.
What if the car doesn't drive?
Say so when you post the job. Drivers see the vehicle's condition before they quote, so the ones who can load a non-runner — with a winch — can price it properly.
