Bought a van at Manheim Shepshed? Post the collection for free and compare quotes from checked drivers, from Shepshed to any address in England, Scotland or Wales.
Collecting from Manheim Shepshed
Manheim Shepshed is on Charnwood Road, Shepshed, Loughborough, LE12 9NN. Manheim describes it as its dedicated LCV (light commercial vehicle) auction centre in Leicestershire, and gives opening times of 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, closed at weekends (checked 2 October 2026).
Post the job once you've paid for the lot: the site's postcode, your delivery postcode, the vehicle and whether it drives. Put the lot number in the notes, and the release or gate-pass details under Access instructions (Special instructions in the app) — only the driver you accept sees those.
Manheim's collection rules
Manheim's buying guide and FAQ on manheim.co.uk (checked 2 October 2026) say:
- Pay in full first — by bank transfer or an approved wholesale funder; debit cards are no longer accepted, and payment speed may vary depending on your bank
- Ready when cleared — once the vehicle is paid for in full and the funds have cleared, it's ready for collection
- Arrange it with the centre — once you've paid, contact the auction centre to arrange collection or delivery
- Free storage — 3 working days from the date of sale, with storage fees after that
Manheim also offers to deliver to any mainland UK location once you've paid in full — worth comparing with drivers' quotes.
How it works
- Post the job — pickup and drop-off postcodes, the vehicle and whether it drives. It's free and you don't need an account to post.
- Checked, independent drivers send their own price. Each quote shows the driver's goods-in-transit cover in pounds.
- Choose a driver and pay a deposit online to book. You pay the rest to the driver directly, on the payment terms shown with their quote.
Storage charges
Post the job as soon as the vehicle is paid for, so drivers have time to quote and collect before the free storage runs out.
Vans and light commercials
When you post, give the make and model, the wheelbase and roof height if you know them, and whether it drives — drivers need that to check the van fits their transporter and to price it. Bought more than one? List them all in the notes; a driver with a bigger transporter may quote for all of them.
Guides
Before you book, read Moving a car you bought at auction: your options compared. Collecting from another Manheim centre? See Manheim auction transport.
A1 Transporter is a new platform and we don't have drivers quoting everywhere yet, so on some routes you may get few quotes, or none. Posting is free, so it costs nothing to see who quotes.
Before you book you see the driver's price and our booking fee. The booking fee is the deposit you pay online; the driver's price is paid to the driver directly, at the time and by the method shown with their quote. Nothing else is added.
Why book through A1 Transporter
- Checked drivers — before approval we check each driver's V5 (vehicle log book), motor insurance and goods-in-transit certificate
- Cover you can see — each quote shows how much goods-in-transit cover that driver has
- Condition photos — the driver photographs the vehicle at collection and again at delivery
- Ask before you book — chat with drivers on the website or in the app; contact details are shared once you've paid the deposit
Frequently asked questions
Can a driver collect from Manheim Shepshed for me?
Yes, if a driver quotes for it. Post the job with the site's postcode and your delivery postcode, and put the lot number in the notes. Once you've chosen a driver and agreed a date, contact the centre to arrange collection for that date — Manheim's buying guide asks buyers to arrange collection with the centre once they've paid.
How quickly can the vehicle be collected?
That depends on the dates you set and the driver you choose. Post as soon as the lot is paid for and compare what each driver says about timing — especially if storage charges are close.
How long is storage free at Manheim Shepshed?
Manheim's buying guide says 3 working days of free storage from the date of sale, with storage fees after that. Post the job as soon as the vehicle is paid for so drivers have time to collect.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Every driver must hold goods-in-transit insurance. Before approval we check each driver's V5 (vehicle log book), motor insurance and goods-in-transit certificate. Each quote shows how much cover that driver has, so choose one whose cover is at least your vehicle's value.
What if the van doesn't drive?
Say so when you post the job. Drivers see the vehicle's condition before they quote, so the ones who can load a non-runner — with a winch — can price it properly.
