Collecting from BCA Measham
BCA Measham is on Tamworth Road, Measham, Swadlincote, DE12 7DY. BCA's page for the centre says it's open for vehicle collection six days a week, including Saturdays, and gives its opening times as 08:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 12:30 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays (checked 3 October 2026) — check MyBCA before you agree a collection date, as hours can change.
Post the job once you've paid for the lot: the site's postcode, your delivery postcode, the vehicle and whether it drives. Put the lot number in the notes, and the release or gate-pass details under Access instructions (Special instructions in the app) — only the driver you accept sees those.
BCA's collection rules
BCA's help and transport pages on bca.co.uk (checked 3 October 2026) say:
- Pay within 24 hours of the sale day
- Book the collection in MyBCA — once you've paid, book it in the Collections tab, on the BCA website or in the BCA Buyer app: choose a time slot, add the collector's details and confirm, and BCA emails you a booking reference
- Collect with that reference — the vehicle is collected at the time and place you booked, using the booking reference
BCA also offers its own delivery, which its help pages say has to be requested before you pay the invoice. Your MyBCA account has the terms for your purchase.
How it works
- Post the job — pickup and drop-off postcodes, the vehicle and whether it drives. It's free and you don't need an account to post.
- Checked, independent drivers send their own price. Each quote shows the driver's goods-in-transit cover in pounds.
- Choose a driver and pay a deposit online to book. You pay the rest to the driver directly, on the payment terms shown with their quote.
Storage charges
BCA's pages say it holds a vehicle you've bought for a set number of days, depending on your MyBCA account level, and that storage (risk and parking) charges apply if the vehicle isn't removed after payment. Check the terms for your purchase in MyBCA, and post the job as soon as you've paid so drivers have time to quote and collect.
Non-runners and damaged vehicles
Some auction stock doesn't drive or has damage. Describe the condition when you post — non-starter, flat tyres, accident damage — so drivers who can load it quote for it.
Guides
Before you book, read Moving a car you bought at auction: your options compared. Collecting from another BCA centre? See BCA collection & delivery.
A1 Transporter is a new platform and we don't have drivers quoting everywhere yet, so on some routes you may get few quotes, or none. Posting is free, so it costs nothing to see who quotes.
Before you book you see the driver's price and our booking fee. The booking fee is the deposit you pay online; the driver's price is paid to the driver directly, at the time and by the method shown with their quote. Nothing else is added.
Why book through A1 Transporter
- Checked drivers — before approval we check each driver's V5 (vehicle log book), motor insurance and goods-in-transit certificate
- Cover you can see — each quote shows how much goods-in-transit cover that driver has
- Condition photos — the driver photographs the vehicle at collection and again at delivery
- Ask before you book — chat with drivers on the website or in the app; contact details are shared once you've paid the deposit
Frequently asked questions
Can a driver collect from BCA Measham for me?
Yes, if a driver quotes for it. Post the job with the site's postcode and your delivery postcode, and put the lot number in the notes. Once you've chosen a driver and agreed a date, book a collection slot for that date in MyBCA — BCA's help pages say collections are booked there, with the collector's details — and give the driver the booking reference. Don't put it in the job notes: every driver who quotes can read those.
How quickly can the vehicle be collected?
That depends on the dates you set and the driver you choose. Post as soon as the lot is paid for and compare what each driver says about timing — especially if storage charges are close.
Is BCA Measham open on Saturdays?
Yes. BCA's page for the centre says it's open for vehicle collection six days a week, including Saturdays, and gives its opening times as 08:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 12:30 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays (checked 3 October 2026). Collections are booked in time slots in MyBCA, so agree the date with your driver before you book the slot.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Every driver must hold goods-in-transit insurance. Before approval we check each driver's V5 (vehicle log book), motor insurance and goods-in-transit certificate. Each quote shows how much cover that driver has, so choose one whose cover is at least your vehicle's value.
What if the car doesn't drive?
Say so when you post the job. Drivers see the vehicle's condition before they quote, so the ones who can load a non-runner — with a winch — can price it properly.
